This is the house that Jack built. Actually, I don't really know who built it but we do have a next door neighbor named Jack here at the little house we bought in Provo. We named it The Briar Patch because it's on Briar Avenue and it's now our little patch of Utah.
This is what it looks like when it snows and here it is in the summer. (It has a new roof now.)
It was built in 1955 and was added onto in the back some years later. We rent the back of it out to a young family with two children. They're great! I think the husband graduates next April from BYU so then we'll be looking for new tenants. Our neighbors all say it's very easy to rent because it's so close to campus (2 blocks) so we're not too worried about that. We use the front part while we're in UT visiting and it's really fun having a house there now. I can stay longer without having to stay with relatives and it gives us our own space. When Greg retires we will decide whether to keep it or sell and buy something else.
It's also only a block away from The Creamery on Ninth which is filled with deliciousness in the most pleasant form of ice cream. Oh my how I love their roasted almond fudge. There's a little grocery store there too which comes in handy.
It's only a mile from the original Provo temple and about a mile to the Marriott Center and a little over a mile to LaVell Edwards' Stadium. The location is what sealed the deal. We've had the grandkids all visit, which is one of the main reasons we bought it. Here are some pictures of the kids.
Our cherry tree--right outside the front window.
Across the street, watching the sunset.

Looking forward to many good times ahead.
